Hi, I’m Ethan.

I never envisioned myself creating a space such as this. Up until about a year ago, all of the writing I had ever done had been academic in nature. I wrote several research papers in college en route to earning a degree in history. I knew I could write and create arguments and present ideas in an academic setting, but never did I consider a path to do the same thing for other areas of my life. I have always been someone who has taken interest in a multitude of fields. I guess you could say I have a niche for trying to find a niche. I worked in the wine business, I have made music, I now work in baseball, I used to take photography seriously, I was in theatre, I played basketball, I love IndyCar and going to the symphony, I read books (I haven’t done that in years until halfway through school), and now I write a little bit on the side. I think my problem is that I have a difficult time sitting down and powering through a task I want to accomplish, and the desire to do it soon dissipates. I have been putting this whole thing off for a while, truth be told. But maybe this is a start in the right direction.

This site contains my thoughts, opinions, recommendations, and general commentary about a wide array of topics. Like I said, lots of interests. Everything I put on here, I care about. I hope there is something here that you care about too. In my experience, having a shared interest with multiple people brings about some of the best conversations and interactions with others. I might have a few stories about that exact thing happening too, which maybe I’ll write about.
